Experts have previously warned that teenagers could be putting their hearing at risk by listening to music on personal devices, such as the iPod, too loudly. However, evidence of any link between headaches and migraines and gadgets such as music players, mobile phones or computers has been limited. The study compared the habits of 1,025 teenagers, all of whom were aged between 13-17.

The findings, published in the journal BMC Neurology, show that listening to one or two hours of music every day was linked to head pain. Astrid Milde-Busch, from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, who led the study, said that there had been a need for the research.

I have my music LOUD when I'm at home but never on my iPod because it'll annoy others.

The experts can say what they like. The teens won't listen (pardon the pun).
